Fractional programming and characterization of some vertices of the feasible region

This paper considers a problem of nonlinear programming in which the objective function is the ratio of two linear functions and the constraints define a bounded and connected feasible region. Using a coordinate transformation, this problem is transformed into a simpler one, whose geometric interpretation is of particular significance. The transformation leads to a characterization of some special vertices of the feasible region from both the theoretical and operational points of view.

机器人头部的视觉跟踪系统研究

对运动目标进行识别和跟踪是机器人视觉的一项关键技术。提出了一种可以快速跟踪运动目标的系统设计方案,采用了双计算机处理和Memolink通信方式的机器人控制结构,以图像处理为基础,在图像经过校正之后,通过区域分割和目标识别两个步骤来确定目标的位置,并控制机器人对目标进行跟踪。实验表明,该方法具有较高的速度和准确性。     

Conditional expectation of integrands and random sets

The conditional expectation of integrands and random sets is the main tool of stochastic optimization. This work wishes to make up for the lack of real synthesis about this subject. We improve the existing hypothesis and simplify the corresponding proofs. In the convex case we especially study the problem of the exchange of conditional expectation and subdifferential operators.

Confidence regions in a multivariate regression model with constraints II

The multivariate model, where not only parameters of the mean value of the observation matrix, but also some other parameters occur in constraints, is considered in the paper. Some basic inference is presented under the condition that the covariance matrix is either unknown, or partially unknown, or known. Constraint incorporation in optimization

Numerical methods for solving constrained optimization problems need to incorporate the constraints in a manner that satisfies essentially competing interests; the incorporation needs to be simple enough that the solution method is tractable, yet complex enough to ensure the validity of the ultimate solution. We introduce a framework for constraint incorporation that identifies a minimal acceptable level of complexity and defines two basic types of constraint incorporation which (with combinations) cover nearly all popular numerical methods for constrained optimization, including trust region methods, penalty methods, barrier methods, penalty-multiplier methods, and sequential quadratic programming methods. The broad application of our framework relies on addition and chain rules for constraint incorporation which we develop here.
